Para-Ten is an online graphic novel created by William Gibbons (Ashwara). It is about a girl who was washed down a river and winds up far from home. She embarks on a journey home, encountering fantastic things, beautiful things, horrible things, disgusting things. It is an exploration of balance, patience, and courage. Updates Sundays and Wednesdays!
William N. Gibbons is the creator of
Para-Ten. He inks the comic with
a brush and colours it in Photoshop
with a Wacom tablet.
William is currently attending the

my critique this time is that I think the second panel could do fine without the words. We see he is fishing, and maybe try it without the dialogue and see if you like that. Just some of my thoughts!
last panel is lovely as well. I love that you are drawing backgrounds, a lot of artists slack on those.
Unleeeeeeeesss, the dialogue is there to point out that this observation is merely an assumption. A setup best suited for if it turns out that mr. guy is not, in fact, fishing at all.
Hm, I can see what you mean. I guess I just wanted to get into her mind for this sequence, taking not of her observation so it could flow into some less literal thoughts without seeming abrupt.
I remember in early high school I was never good at drawing back grounds so I spent a lot of time forcing myself to draw them. Part of it was I think ’cause i noticed, as you said, how a lot of artists [especially web comic artists] kind of slack there. Ha ha.
The first panel is amazing! It made me want to go to the ocean. The whole page is beautiful as always but that first panel is amazing! I also love how in panel four it’s like we’re looking at her through the old man’s eyes. This is an interesting point of view I didn’t expect.
Your backgrounds are really amazing. (For some reason, I can’t take my eyes of the rocks in panel 4. They… rock… er, are awesome.) Someone also mentioned the design of clothes a page or so ago, and I definitely have to agree, especially in the light of the page before with Paveline’s clothing. She looks so fashionable.
okay so first panel is GORGEOUS.

This page is probably the strongest one so far, bro, I really dig it.
Thanks bro! I am coming into my element now. Ha ha.
okay yeah I really cannot get over that first panel. you could make a great banner or ad out of it, it is really a lovely image in itself.
Ha ha, maybe i will make a banner out of it one of these days…
More yumminess! Great work!
I love the way the water and sky turned out, very serene and pleasant looking.

Thanks! I haven’t gotten a lot of comments on my designs before so I’m glad to hear people like them =]
