I guess I just wanted to get into her mind for this sequence, taking not of her observation so it could flow into some less literal thoughts without seeming abrupt. I remember in early high school I was never good at drawing back grounds so I spent a lot of time forcing myself to draw them. Part of it was I think 'cause i noticed, as you said, how a lot of artists [especially web comic artists] kind of slack there. Ha ha. Hm, I can see what you mean.
